Before first use, wash in cold water with no detergent
To avoid excess water consumption and maintain their quality, our towels are not industrially prewashed. Therefore, they should be prewashed at home in cold water and with no detergent.
Due to the their low twist, some loose cotton fibers are expected to come off during the first uses.
Wash colours separately
Wash your towels with other terry products of the same colour and avoid mixing different types of fabric or clothes that could damage your towels during machine wash cycles. It is normal for colour towels to colour bleed during their first washes, so they should be washed separately.
Machine wash up to 60ºC
We recommend machine washing with cold water, maximum 60 ºC.
Avoid fabric softener
Using fabric softener makes towels less absorbent, so this should be avoided as much as possible. If you have accidentally used fabric softener, don't worry. You can still use the towels anyway, and their full absorption capacities will be regained during their next wash cycle. You can occasionally add white vinegar to disinfect and soften the cotton fibers.
Never use bleach
Never use bleach. Bleach will damage your towels' terry fabric.
Tumble dry or hang, avoiding direct sun exposure
For maximum softness, Torres Novas towels can be dried in the dryer at a low to moderate temperature. If using a traditional clothesline, avoid direct sun exposure and remove towels before fully dry to prevent them from getting too hard. If they become hard, do not worry, as they will recover their softness after a few uses.
Store in a fresh and dry place
Torres Novas towels should be kept in a cool and dry place. Avoid damp areas.
Hang towels between uses
We advise hanging towels on a towel rack or hanger immediately after use. This is important to avoid the development of moisture and bad smells.
Switch towels after 5-7 uses
We recommend switching and washing your towels after 5-7 uses.
